Schubert unveiled a packaging machine, which uses a totally new packaging method, at the ProSweets 2007 exhibition in Cologne.
The machine, which is suitable for packaging biscuits, erects packaging boxes from flat blanks and fills them with products. What is new about the machine is the grouping process. While products are generally grouped with the aid of grouping chains, the machine on show uses four-axis robots to complete the grouping process.
Three TLM-F44 robots group 600 products a minute on a continuously moving grouping belt. The product layers positioned on the belt ready for packaging are picked up by a TLM-F2 robot and placed in the erected boxes. An additional TLM-F2 robot unit has the job of closing the boxes.
The use of robot technology allows the implementation of any required presentation and quick, simple, conversion to different pack layouts and box sixes.
