Tate & Lyle has announced the launch of a new formulation service that helps food manufacturers to add nutrients to food products, without compromising on taste.
The new service follows the introduction of Tate & Lyle’s Rebalance Service in 2005, which is focused on reformulating to lower sugar, fat and calorie levels.
This move reflects new consumer habits in favour of nutritious products, providing they taste as good as more unhealthy versions.
From mid-January, Tate & Lyle has been showcasing a range of prototypes developed under the ‘Enrich’ programme in the bakery, beverage and dairy sectors.
Each prototype is aimed at one of three health platforms: digestive health and immunity, obesity and weight management, and children’s health.
The prototypes will show what types of products the company can develop. Following an initial demonstration of a product prototype, Tate & Lyle’s R&D teams work closely with the customer to develop an ingredient system that meets their specific brand objectives.
